I've come to the conclusion that hardly anyone in this thread has a clue to what they're talking about. They support someone and will defend that to death, but they don't know why.

Computernerd, I'm not faulting you for being a McCain supporter. But the arguments you're trying to formulate are completely absurd. And yes, that Tom Toles cartoon is in response to the right-wing idiots (note: most right-wing people are not idiots) who are convinced that Obama is a terrorist and doesn't care about the US or whatever. So if you found that to be good, and define good as being against Obama, then you obviously haven't paid enough attention.

There's a ton of arguments you could use to support McCain, but so far you haven't come up with one.

It's true. Very few people here seem to know much about what's really going on, or reasons why they're supporting their candidate. That's why this thread isn't that serious, and we're better off posting comics

I know my reasons, and probably nobody likes my reasons (because people are just differently wired).

It's best summed up here:

If I have to choose between these two, I'd stand behind McCain because McCain isn't like Obama. I think the 2 biggest problems I have with Obama are 1-that he's Pro-Choice (or pro-abortion or anti-life, whichever way you want to refer to it), and 2-his small-town comment:

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them...And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.


And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Note: If you ask someone else, those 2 reasons might be their reasons to support Obama rather than McCain. However, I see those 2 reasons as issues are important enough to outweigh all the faults of McCain and cause me to stand behind McCain just so that Obama won't be president.

There are numerous other reasons I don't like Obama, but those 2 are the biggest. In fact, if Obama and McCain flip-flopped on all the other issues, but keep their stances on these two issues, then I'd still support McCain.
