2e. Rotor construction: Competitors must construct the rotors themselves. Commercially available rotors or propellers must not be used in whole or part. Rotor thrust bearings may be commercially available items.
I interpreted this as meaning any part of the Ikara prop -hanger included- is not allowed.
So using this

and its corresponding hanger wouldn't be allowed. I know it says bearings can be commercially available, but that just means beads or teflon washers, right?

'Bearing' is defined as 'a device to allow constrained relative movement between two or more parts'. I think the Ikara prop hanger falls under this category.

I have three working helicopters and about 5 destroyed ones. I just take the motorsticks from the broken ones, because that batch of balsa just seemed to be really light...

yeah the lower rotor of my destroyed one is ok so i really have 1.5 helicopters ^.^

I've built 10+ helis over the course of the year. Got two almost identical (mass distribution is immaculate...) copters right now.

That's nuts man! I spend so much time building them I try as hard as I can to avoid building another.
Jw, but how DO you balance it? Like how do u weigh just 1/2 a rotor?

you don't, just try to balance the center on your finger. Whichever side tips over first, take action to lighten, or if you rotor isn't very heavy, make the other side slightly heavier, but not by much.
