Well, you'll probably get graph paper, and you'll have a ruler, but other than that, yes, you have to draw the graphs/charts by hand.

Has any one been in the event this year yet? What objects have been used? What do you think of the experimental design?

In the eastern long island regional the topic was friction and the effects of friction. They gave us a piece of molding, a syrofoam ball, another type of ball, a cardboard box, 3 pieces of different textured fabrics, a plastic spool ( or something like that), tape, and some other things that I can't remember. We got First!!!

At the RCS Invitation (NY, B Div, in January), the topic was surface tension, and they gave us pennies, water, soap, epsom salt, pipettes, some glassware... I think that's it.

At NE PA the topic for C was trying to neutralize a water + HCl mixture, and they gave us 4 solutions, pH paper, test tubes in a rack, and other assorted stuff.

we did an experiment using most of those things in practice one day
