What cube are u talking about? Also as for your previous question yes, I built my box out of insulation foam. Try not to double post next time.

Do you mean the 15x15x15 cube used to measure the device? If that's what you meant, they usually just use a standard ruler to measure.

Does he mean the measurement cube? Usually event supervisors won't go out of their way to make a measurement cube; they will just measure with a ruler or something of the like.

In my limited and humble experience, they normally just measure if the sides are 15 cm for div c and 20 for div b. However, they did use parts of boxes at a few comps...

Confirming that that's what they did last year at all my competitions (also measured the distance of the hole)

I'm a little confused by "Heat Score" and the event itself. Is one of the goals to achieve the minimum change in heat/temp loss using the device AND predict the change OR is JUST the prediction in the change in temp considered in the final score? Also what exactly does the "heat score"/ k value mean?

The Heat Score measures how well the box retains heat, and as you say, minimum heat loss is good. The Prediction Score measures how well you predict the final temperature. Both are important.

Pretty much any type of insulation that is allowed if it fits within your building space and will be able to be worked to make your device within construction parameters.

The material you use is really a matter of choice. Depending on how much money you're willing to sink on this event, you would use different materials. I would recommend doing some research and making a decision based on how good the insulation is and how much it costs.
