Also what is 2.2 density? What units, is it g/in^3 ? if it is you multiply that by 3.8 to convert it into lbs/ft^3 which is the more common form of measuring denstiy of balsa. I don't think it is because 5 lbs/ft^3 is kinda light for a bridge.

Actually looking back, making a 6 gram bridge is amazing!!. nice job. and the wood would have to be that light for the entire to bridge to be THAT light. Even your other bridge which was 1500 eff is really good. nice job and good luck.

oh wut i meant by 2.2 density is 2.2 grams per 36 inch stick

yeah and the 6 gram bridge was made entirely from 1.3 grams/ 36 inch stick and im hoping it can hold at least 12 kg cuz we r trying to get an efficiency of at least 2000 or more for nats

yeah the size stick is 1/8 by 1/8

ok so the densitites would be 14.9# and 8.8# respectivley. Note # = lbs/ft^3

I am hoping that my bridge will be able to get a 600 efficiency. I don't know how everyone is getting in the 2000, even in the 1000, or the 600! What place do you think would be reasonable if we get a 600 efficiency in PA states?

in PA states, i would say... 4th or 5th maybe?
i think a lot of ppl from PA have been getting high bridge efficiencies.
and smartkid, is it easier to get a higher efficiency in div C.?

I would say at States 600 would get top 10, not as high as 4th or 5th.
People have posted different opinions on this thread weather Div C or B scores would be higher. One factor that people have menchioned is that div C participants would have more building experience. So i'm saying that if i buit a div C bridge and then a div b bridge with similar design Div B would have higher efficency, particulary because it is 10 cm shorter in length. That's 10 cm worth of wood not having to worry about. Now, i've never built a Div B bridge to back this up, but this is just how i see it. If i weren't so busy with other things i really should make a Div b bridge just to see...
