Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
First, congrats to the winners! I'm excited to hear the first place efficiency. Nejanimb, 2005 is very impressive, as is the level of optimization necessary to break at 15.01kg. Congratulations, and thanks for your help! As I'm sure a couple people have noticed, my (Eastview's) bridge was spectacularly awful. While a little bit twisted, it fit spec. when we got into town Thursday night. I think it must have warped a little Friday and Saturday morning, because we were .12mm too tall at check-in... As if that wasn't enough, we managed a whopping 618 efficiency, my worst ever. 9.64g breaking at 5.96kg. I am extremely disappointed, to say the least.
But hey, at least I beat Waterville!

nejanimb wrote:3rd place C Division was 2005 (us!!) - 7.48 that broke at 15.01 (held full load). Witchita Collegiate beat us by 6 points! 2011; 7.33 that held 14.745. I have no idea otherwise. Hopefully rjm will come on soon and post the medalling scores as he did last year.
Congrats Troy!
Troy did not go to nationals. I thought the max load was 15 not 15.01

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
They probably added a little extra weight, because if they only had 14.9kg, then they jipped the kid out of that extra 100 grams of efficiency, and broke the rules, but if they go over, they can just judge based on 15.00 kg.Littleboy wrote:nejanimb wrote:3rd place C Division was 2005 (us!!) - 7.48 that broke at 15.01 (held full load). Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Wow, a lot of great bridges this year...i have to say though, i saw many a bridge builder who let the sand in WAY too slowly, causing they're bridge to break earlier than it should have. But congrats Wichita! And wat was Troys efficiency?

You're thinking of the wrong Troy, there is a Troy in California that is a perennial contenderLittleboy wrote:nejanimb wrote:3rd place C Division was 2005 (us!!) - 7.48 that broke at 15.01 (held full load). Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Not the first time some one mixed up Troy, CA with Troy, MI. I do understand how people mix them up because both of them are did great in Elevated Bridge. What was the best score this year that CA Troy got at Nats? I don’t think it was 2500+ like was #1 last year.fmtiger124 wrote:You're thinking of the wrong Troy, there is a Troy in California that is a perennial contenderLittleboy wrote:nejanimb wrote:3rd place C Division was 2005 (us!!) - 7.48 that broke at 15.01 (held full load). What do people think will be the balsa event next year? [tower, beam, boom, old bridge, something new]

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
One reason i think im gonna like Towers - with the few designs ive thought of, keeping in mind that modification will most likely be necessary once the official rules come out, ill only need at most 3 different sizes of balsa...im hoping to keep the budget for towers under 100...but i really want to build as much as i can.
