1. Jeffrey Trail A (74)
2. Kraemer A (89)
3. Jeffrey Trail B (121)

5. Sierra Vista (159)
6. Cerro Villa (181)
7. Pioneer (195)
8. Oak Middle(242)
9. Fisler Elementary (242)
10 Ladera Vista (246)

Without Muscatel (or maybe even if they were around this year) it is going to be a knockdown fight in states between several schools this year:

Jeffrey Trail (#1 in OC, #6 2016 state)
Kraemer (#2 OC, #2 2016 state)
CVMS (#1 SD, #4 2016 state)
Oak Valley (#2 SD, #7 2016 state)
Mesa Verde (#4 SD, #3 last year state)
Mesa Robles (#5 2016 state)
Black Mountain (#3 SD, #8 2016 state)
Chaparral (#9 2016 state)

Predictions? Jeffrey Trail and Kraemer have performed the best at invitationals where the other schools also competed.
Yup... it was as I thought, a knockdown fight. Kraemer lost it due to two events. I do congratulate Oak Valley on winning. They deserved it. They had performed well in the invitationals this year and were not a surprise to win it. The San Diego region DOMINATED with 5 of the top 7 places and 7 of the Top 12. Ocean Air from San Diego (with only 5th and 6th grade students, I might add) was 11th and Meadowbrook was 12th. It shows how strong the San Diego region is from top to botom.

I had 8 schools listed above were all in the top 9 at state this year. The only one I did not mention was Pacific Trails, another SD school which finished 5 in SD and 6th in the state in only their second year. I just had not figured another SD school would crack the list. I thought they were top 10 material... But they have half of what used to be CVMS students and will be another power in the state. Looks like they already are. It also is apparent that like LAs dominance, now that Muscatel is gone, is waning. Only Mesa Robles and Chaparrel were able to crack the Top 12 and the LA region was relegated to mid-tier status. Orange County has only Kraemer and Jeffrey Trail, but no other schools can compete with them and, only Sierra Vista would have made it to state had they been in the San Diego region. With the power 5 from San Diego, it is clear that Scioly power in the SoCal state has shifted south.

I must admit, most of my teammates weren't expecting that we'd ever make it Nationals. It's fantastic that we have, but I'm still shocked.
