Our Regional is held in a local public high school (where none of the contestants attend) and it is always spread wayy out alll over the builfing it is so frustrating. They send us up onto the 2nd and 3rd floors, and usually they give us a map of the building because location varies year to year, and tell us where events will be held ahead of time. This year we got no map of the school, and were told what rooms the events were in (which didnt really help us because it was a new location), but then when we arrived the numbers were all changed. They had signs up directing you but they led to the old room number not the new rooms, which caused many kids to come late to events, because the signs sent kids across the building!

Mine is pretty well run. Events are usually no more than a few minutes late and most rules are followed. They did impound elevated bridge when in the rules it says no impound. Most events are there and all count. Wright Stuff and Compute This are the only events I can think of off-hand that aren't there, but I think there are more. EDIT: Experimental Design, and Pentathlon are also missing

We were missing Pentathlon, Environmental Chemisty, Crave the Wave, Physical Science Lab, Compute This, Ecology, and Meteorology.. and Sumobots and Car of Tomorrow didn't count- idk if all states have that, but they are trials in NY.. but as I said before, the official SciOly rules are thrown by the wayside for our Regionals, and whatever the supervisors say is what you do. That's just how it is and I think something should be done, but we lost our amazing coordinator and got an idiotic one instead.

same in my state. itd be better if they were counted so the alternates can at least feel like they did something to help the team. some states dont even give medals to the first, second, third, etc. place alternates! really...thats kinda mean. :|

regionals can work both to and against our benefit. sometimes the proctors overlook some rules and make the test easier, other times proctors overlook some rules and just do whatever they want with the test. :| regionals is pretty well run, however we had an incident this year where both the judge and the group doing an event overlooked one of the rules. at states, the judge didnt overlook that rule and the team didnt even know about it. :?

I hated regionals!!! In the Scrambler Event, it says in the rules you need to wear goggle or you cant participate, and we were the only ones with goggles. The judges didn't do anything. Another thing was some people put tape all around the egg and the judges didn't count penalty for that! I really think they should have gotten fired. There also was a big bump on the middle of the track. How bogus is that!!!???
