Re: The 2009 Science Olympiad Test Exchange
I don't think there are enough people who are aware of the test exchange but not contributing to make it important to stop those who don't contribute from using the tests that are posted. Obviously it's encouraged to only do it as an exchange and not just take other tests without giving anything, but it's probably not a huge deal if not every person posts a test in exchange for every one they use. I don't think there's enough "mooching" that the exchange is going to run out of new tests...

Re: The 2009 Science Olympiad Test Exchange
Don't exactly know which view you hold...but again, it's unfair to shun the people that don't have access to tests to post. For example, the only tests I have access to are previous nationals ones from the books that can be ordered (order your own, they're copyrighted and can't be posted), and the ones from Tufts University (already public on the internet).
So would that mean anyone in my situation shouldn't have access to the tests? That'd be totally unfair. I thought the purpose of this site was to help others with S.O. Certainly being greedy isn't going to help anyone in the long run.

Re: The 2009 Science Olympiad Test Exchange
I'm going to post a Remote Sensing Test in Test Exchange Wiki Page, part of it... since it would take a really really long time to type all of the test from the invitational. (I dont have a scanner
) Also, anyone who went the 2009 Northmont Invitational, can you please post some tests from that? Thanks.

2010 Events: Anatomy, Astronomy, Cell Biology, Protein Modeling

Maybe we could add a way to link from the respective wiki pages to the Test Exchange tests for their specific event.

I'm sure people wouldn't mind if you took digi-cam pictures of the the other tests (if you have a digital camera). Pictures in macro mode of text are pretty good. Better than not having themsciolykid101 wrote:I'm going to post a Remote Sensing Test in Test Exchange Wiki Page, part of it... since it would take a really really long time to type all of the test from the invitational. If you are going to do google docs links like that, you'll need to do like...

You would just do like:starpug wrote:Maybe we could add a way to link from the respective wiki pages to the Test Exchange tests for their specific event.
http://scioly.org/wiki/2009_Test_Exchan ... te_Sensing
since all of the sections are done as headings

Per the rest of the discussion...minus the virginia tests, the page would look like this: http://scioly.org/wiki/ExampleExchange <== the contributions of two users. So I definitely understand that they might wish people were adding tests :\
Hopefully I'll be able to snag some tests from the regional I'm working this coming weekend.
I dunno, hopefully it will grow with time. I never did a testing event

Re: The 2009 Science Olympiad Test Exchange
it will grow eventually. if not now, after more states are over and less teams are competing. some people probably feel uncomfortable giving out tests that might help "the enemy"
my state doesnt have too many people on this site so im not too worried.

Re: The 2009 Science Olympiad Test Exchange
I would love to add some events, but there's one problem, I don't have any tests currently to add.

*coughs: I have an extensive list of enemies* lol, but I'm not on the A Team at my school, due to the DUMB "SENIORITY RULES" RULE"....jazzy009 wrote:it will grow eventually. if not now, after more states are over and less teams are competing. some people probably feel uncomfortable giving out tests that might help "the enemy"
