You can do whatever you want as long as it follows the rules and doesn't break the egg.
Thanks

You can't adhere anything to the egg (see rule 2h). If you can find some other way to attach something to the egg...good for you...but I'd rather just have something that I place the egg in.

What do you mean by suspending the egg in the bottle? What bottle? You certainly can't suspend it in the pressure vessel, unless you're going to use an additional bottle somewhere.

Ya- the rule specifically says nothing can be attached from the egg. Plus, the egg goes on your rocket right before its launched. So you don't have time to hot glue it to anything or ad things to the egg.
This is a great year because I will beat Owen and Saad in Egg-O-Naut and the New York Jets are a playoff team this year because Brett Farve is the Best Quarterback on the Earth. 7-3. Better and better every week. The Yankees are getting C.C. Sabbathia.

Does anyone have a clue on how their going to get the egg to detach from actual botttle rocket? In the rules, it says your awarded an extra three points for completing this task but, does anyone have an efficent way to do it? I know that it would probably just fall off once it goes off. However, I would feel much better if I had a more efficent way to complete it. Any ideas??

You can attach things to the egg if you want. The rules don't forbid that. You just can't adhere anything to it. So if you wanted to rubberband something to the egg or something, that'd be fine.

You're going to have to let the egg capsule fall off using gravity. Since the rules forbid any additional propulsion source other than the pressure vessel, there's really no other way to do it. You could try a wind flap I guess (look at some water rocket sites on the internet), but I think that's more trouble than it's worth.

Hey starplug, I understand on this thread that you have clearly stated that gravity just needs to do its job but, what exactly will that do for me. I want an efficent manner to get the egg to detach from the bottle and slowly safely fall. O and andrewwski I understand that rule just fine. It makes sense to me. The thing I'm asking is strictly how EXACTLY are you going to build your rocket so that it can get the best time possible. Your too loose. - Please be MORE specific. For example, what shape should the fins be, what should the fins be made of, how many fins should their be, how much water needs to go inside, where should the egg go, if and how you add the parachute, what gravity does, and overall any more important design info that is needed- basically the overall structure? I'm sorry but, this is the first year this event is here for me to see and I've never done bottle rocket so, on this website I'm looking for a good starting base for my design in this competition. Im sorry for all the questions but, this event really has my mind boggled, confused, and lastly stuck. If you could please take a few minutes to give a good summary on how to design a rocket and prefierably a specific and detailed explanation because I have tried so many different things and its not going great. So I'm looking for some more help - Thanks.

This is a new thing at our school so sorry if I ask stupid questions. I have two more. One how early do you suggest building and testin rockets. Like schould we get as much information as possible first or just trial and error it while learning from our experinces. The second is how many do you suggest making? I know we can take two to the competion, but what's the ballpark for the number that should be produced? We know we will have next year to compete as well, but we want to do our best this year. Thanks in advance!!! :D :D :D :D

We came up with another one. Anyone have any ideas of the best way to detach the nose cone from the pressure bottle?? I'm not sure if this has been addressed yet. Sorry if it has.
Thanks
