The first clue does not refer to anyone working on the case. The solution will probably go out tomorrow so get your guesses in.

The trick to solving the mystery is to consider what information I gave each person about the characters and not the stuff they added later. Who Am I? and Whodunnit?

I'm still waiting on a few votes, but I'll wrap this deal up sometime tomorrow with my ID clues and the end of the story. You have until then to get your votes in if you have not done so already. If the person who did it isn't guessed, the person who wrote the clue gets two points. I told the person 'Whodunnit' that they did it, so you know, at the very least, if your character didn't do it. Good luck!

For starters, I wanted to thank SilverNight for selecting me to host this game. It took me some time to get started; I wanted to apologize for that. I had an invitational the day after I was selected and thought I had three weeks until the next one (meaning a lot of free time). It turned out I had only two and had a hard time getting everything done. Whoops! I think it all turned out alright, though, when I actually sat down and composed the game.

I wanted to use my shot at this to try a different style than how you guys normally do the Who Am I? games. Instead of asking for you to write a poem or any old clue on topic that somehow relates to you, I wanted a theme that told a story. It's up to you guys to tell me how the story theme worked out in the end and if you'd like to ever see something similar again, ultimately. I wrote the simplest possible story to test the waters (while making it site-relevant), and it was, admittedly, lame. That slowed me down, too, not liking what I had written. I got over that when folks started submitting their clues. Watching my little bullet points come to life was really enjoyable, so I hope you enjoyed writing the clues as much as I enjoyed reading them.

The issue with the style was obvious. The clues got buried in the mess of details making them difficult to solve leading to you guys guessing with no good reason. There is not much way around this, but I am all ears if you think of a way to improve it. I dunno. Did you have fun? I hope you did. Give me some feedback if you get a chance.

About Nobody_...lame name! But, the community has spoken, and it seems I'm the only one who doesn't like it. It will stay, and, as the permanent Who Am I? games account now, the next host will be given the Nobody_ account once selected. Now for the good stuff…
First of all, I bet you have noticed that Nobody_’s birthday is every day. That was just me having a little fun with the account and meant nothing, though you could say Skink-me posting in the Assassinator game about Nobody_ having a sense of humor served as a veiled hint. I didn’t miss a day! I also wished Nobody_ happy birthday on SilverNight's birthday, the persoin who chose me as Nobody_. I don't ever post in that topic.

Unfortunately, Nobody_’s sig’s fine print was bogus. I am not the Assassinator. Though, that was last used in EFO’s game which I took great interest in. Nobody thought Nobody_’s sig pointed to him; I was a bit surprised at that one. The rest of the sig? It said how Nobody_ is first place. The game’s theme is first place, too, for that matter. What is usually found in the sig of the Skink account? A scanned first place State medal.

I didn’t go out of my way to veil my writing style too much. I did remove punctuation other than periods, though. You may have found that irritating. The thing to note is that I often switched accounts immediately, so you would notice that Nobody_ posted at, say, 7:34 in the Who Am I? 4 game while Skink posted at 7:37 in the 100th Assassinator game. After while, that should get mildly suspicious. It goes without saying the fact that Nobody_ updated the birthday every day suggested the person behind the account was around often.

It’s worth noting that this is the first in the last three Who Am I? games that Skink-me did not drop in and say something, not that that’s easy to notice or anything.

Nobody_ was listed as B. That was another hint. About that school? Northern View Middle School? The whole SWAN thing was unfortunately more clever than I was. Flip the map 180 degrees and correct the directions meant to change north to south and east to west. Southern View Middle School. If you Google that, you’ll find Southern View, IL. That, also, pointed to me. It was not the best designed clue ever, I admit. The lion statue in the entryway? It’s an animal. What color is it? Black and yellow. The Skink sig is a black skink with yellow text, and you could argue that’s the color scheme of the medal. It may be a stretch, but that’s one of many clues here.

How about that Sadie Carnot? Actually, I had fun naming the characters, but this one was the best. This was actually PicturePerfect’s part, but she was unable to get a clue written. So, I decided to write one pointing to myself. The funny thing about that one is that this particular character’s name was based on Sadi Carnot, mentioned in the clue, who didn’t live very long. The fact that this character was named this way originally pointed to me writing the story (and even moreso when I could write her clue!) because I had noted the same thing she did not too long ago in the Keep the Heat topic. Lastly, three of her four listed events are topics in which Skink-me regularly posts (Keep the Heat, Crime Busters, and Metric Mastery).

I think that sums it up. I may have forgotten a hint over the last few weeks, but that was plenty to suggest I was Nobody_, right? hotchocolate was spot-on, obviously. I do not know how; I suspect the post I made in the Favorite Events topic about how I liked Ornith was one of them (which wasn’t actually a hint because SWAN wasn’t the clue solution, but it pointed to me, anyways!). Either way, nicely done. I could not give you any points because you weren’t working on the case, but, trust me, I thought about it.
Let’s finish the story, shall we?
Friday Morning
He sat sipping a coffee reading the headline in the newspaper, The Northern View View.
‘LUNCH LADY CRASHED AND BURNED’
The article read as follows:
‘Sixty-eight year old Minnie Schoenbecker of Northern View was arrested today on allegations of larceny, extortion, and an altercation, all on school property at Northern View Middle School, where she was employed as lunch room supervisor. Schoenbecker allegedly stole sums of cash from the registers in the lunch room over a five year period. Estimations for how much money she stole have not been released. Additionally, she allegedly stole an award the school’s science club won from the school. She allegedly used the funds she stole to blackmail the custodial staff to keep quiet about her activities in the lunch room. Upon discovery by the assistant principal, sixty-five year old Gertrude Gordon, the two got into an argument that escalated. Schoenbecker’s lawyer has declined to comment…’

Chuckling, he put down the paper, not finishing the article. He looked up at his wife who was getting their son’s backpack on him for school and said, “Get this, Minnie Mouse is goin’ to the slammer! Hahahahahaha. Can’t wait to hear everyone talk about her today!”
He finished his oatmeal and grabbed his bag, heading out to his car to drive to school. He opened the trunk and set down his computer bag on top of a mess of old music sheets, careful not to scratch the trophy wrapped up in rags stuffed in the back. Before closing the trunk, he muttered, “Sorry, Minnie. I’m first, and you’re nobody.”
~

Two points have been assigned to EpicFailOlympian for Mr. Coda not having been guessed as the trophy thief. How were you to figure it out? Well, aside from the fact that he sounded outright suspicious in his clue, he told a contradictory account of the assembly that day because he committed the crime after his part of the assembly. Recall that the janitor said the trophy was gone by the end of the day. The school secretary did not notice the trophy leave because Mr. Coda took it out after students—and her—had all left leaving him unnoticed. Besides, he shoved it in his bag which could have been any instrument, not suspicious at all.

After the show choir performance, the student council followed by the principal were up. Oddly, Mr. Coda mentioned about how good the cheer performance was after his part. There was no cheer performance (for whatever unspecified reason). He assumed there would be, but that was changed beyond his knowledge. Instead, student council and the principal put some filler material in there to kill time until dismissal. Both Lindsay and Sadie noted these things. Why couldn’t they have been lying together and Mr. Coda telling the truth? Aside from the fact that they had no motive and probably don’t know each other (different grades, different interests), they had no access. Whether the lunch lady left the trophy case open was irrelevant. There was no way they could have pulled this off. Mr. Coda had an excuse for leaving the assembly. The heist could not have been pulled off by Matt the next morning. Impossible.

What was his motive? Rereading his clue suggests some resentment towards the fact that the NVMS Science Olympiad team was successful while his students—some of whom switched from band and choir to Science Olympiad--couldn’t even toot their own horns. If you paid attention to Sadie, she mentioned that the NVMS band has never won anything. Mr. Coda is jealous. What is he going to do with the trophy now? To be continued...

Lastly, in case you did not notice, the first post, which was written in Mr. Coda’s perspective, not Nobody_’s, had a huge hint. It includes ‘DRUM ROLL PLEASE’ in caps. Which character would most likely ask for a drum roll?

We have a problem, a tie, in fact. The rules do not have a provision in place in the event of a tie. Wait, I forgot about rule 7. Unsolved clues go to me if a majority remain unsolved. Fortunately for you, a majority of them were solved, so I get nothing.

I now use rule 8. In the event of a tie (throw in hotchocolate with 2 points if you want; it won’t matter), the person who solved the most clues wins the game. EFO did not gain points by solving clues, so siciscio wins the game! Congratulations. PM me with your selection for the next host.

Like I said, the clues got buried in the details and became an afterthought, almost. Oh well. Although, I don't think my clue was that difficult, all things considered. I can't speak for most of the other ones because I don't know the solutions.

good game brethren Skink. My appreciation will shown......with this picture-

Perfection. That’s what it’s about. It’s those moments. When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty of physics, you know, the wonder of mathematics. The elation of action and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to.

Good game Skink! Your game definitely got more interest than mine, so good job! :)
Darn, hotchocolate123 got it right. If not, then SilverNight and I would've tied. Oh well, I asked her about it and she did have sound reasoning. Hopefully the next game starts soon- I'm looking forward to it! :)
