Re: Fossils
I remember last year that there was a spreadsheet posted somewhere on the internet that detailed all the rocks and minerals (and their identifying characteristics, etc.) as well as essential vocabulary. Is there anything like it now?

Re: Fossils
Are we allowed to bring anything in during the event to help us out? like a chart or something.

you can bring 1 magnifying glass; 1 published feild guidethat you can tab, write in or attach post-it or other notes; and 1 3-ring binder that is any size contaning info. in any form from any sorce. The materials must be 3- hole punched & inserted into rings (sheet protectors are allowed)

Re: Fossils
I'm probably going to end up doing the binder over Christmas break, if I even do the event at all.
Would you use a dichotomous key to organize the species listing, or would you use multiple tabs, with one for each genera?

Re: Fossils
So in this event are there only questions about the fossils on the fossil list or do they ask you things about fossils in general?

Re: Fossils
They're similar to the nautilus, with a spiral shell.

Re: Fossils
so the fossils event is basically just bout learning about the different fossils and the environment they lived in?
