Well nearly everyone else in the event was soaked too, because pretty much everyone was coming from another buildingsk8lynne wrote:Oh yeah, I forgot about the dripping wet part...that was when me and kelsey got lost and ran all the way to pennsylvania avenue when it was thundering and raining really hard. Re: Wanted Science Olympiad Events
i did that exact thing! the last time-slot had meteorology in it, so i had to run 7 blocks to E street in the rain from the auditorium thing with robocrosssk8lynne wrote:Oh yeah, I forgot about the dripping wet part...that was when me and kelsey got lost and ran all the way to pennsylvania avenue when it was thundering and raining really hard. i ran 3 blocks one way, realized i was going away from e, turned around, got back to where i came from, then ran another 5 to Pennsylvania, where i said to myself "isnt this close to the white house?" and noticed i was in the wrong place again. (i was all by myself) so i totaled about 23 blocks (round trip) in 25 minutes in the rain (sprinting)
the meteorology event supervisor let me in and gave me extra time to make it a full 50 minutes. what is really funny is that my partner, was only in that event, so he had time to leave early. he started out closer to the building than me, and got there 10 minutes after me...
i had no rain-gear and kept running, and he had stopped at a store with his umbrella and poncho to wait it out... i got mad at him because they could have penalized us, and he could have made it there on time...
well, nats was really fun

Re: Wanted Science Olympiad Events
Man, I got to Metric Mastery late too. By the time I left my other building, Metric had already started, and then I had to wait out the rain outside Meteorology..
My partner wasnt happy.
We still got 10th.

Re: Wanted Science Olympiad Events
So for anyone in B, what do you think should replace robo-cross (if it does go which from what I'm getting is a 99% chance) If you live in NY you'll know about sumo-bots. I think that should replace it.
