I just wish that the conflicts wouldn't depend usually on what number team you had, really, if we weren't number 5 i believe, we could have done better in a few events due to different and unimportnat conflicts.

Well, that would be true even if the national schedule were used at all levels. You couldn't possibly keep the same number throughout.

Oh god, what a stressful day of Scioly....
my fossils partner does ornithology (and no one else in the school besides me wants to do that event) and i wanted to do the event. and really besides us two, there is only one other fossils person. regionals wont be a problem, but we realized at states, my partner and i will be forced to split up and she wont even have a strong partner....

god, i wish the schedule could be changed.

So it's official there's a conflict then?
I'm emailing the state director tomorrow after the PSAT.

You two do realize that if they move other things around so fossils/orni isn't conflicted something else is going to conflict and you're going to end up screwing over some other team?

well, they should have it like the national schedule. if you look at the schedule of last year, you can see that some schools had certain conflicts while some did not.
http://newyorkscioly.org/SOPages/CSchedule-State10.pdf
take a look at the first time slot.
teams 1-18 had disease, remote and envirochem
teams 19-36 had disease, remote, tech prob solving and forensics
teams 37-54 had disease and remote.

the team number can make or break your placing.
if they are going to have conflicts, they should be relative to all teams.
see the national schedule? it works perfectly there.
