At PA States, we've always had to sign onto the college network with a specific username and password (like "Team47" with password "scioly"). It also makes it a lot easier to grade, because you can easily tell which files belong to which team due to the specific accounts.
I'm pretty sure we had to do that for NY States last year too.

I go to school at Cerro Villa MS. A neighboring school of El Rancho Charter, a once dominating science olympiad team. Rebecca Black goes to El Rancho. It's Friday everyday there. :D

Well...that would depend on the difficulty of the test, how easy the website is to navigate, and how "perfect" you make your answers. Easy tests (like the PA State test from two years ago) can be finished in ~30 minutes, while the tough ones (like last year's PA State) can't even be finished within 50. On the "easy test", my partner and I walked out early after triple-checking all our answers. On the "tough test", the winning score was around 70/100, and a score of 50/100 would have gotten you a pretty decent place.

oh ok. that's somewhat good to know. yeah but the reason i asked it is that im participating in compute this in state (CA). and apparently they had the events in la and san diego counties but not orange county. that kinda pigeon me off. extra practice for the other teams. yeah but thanks.

Thank you!

And depending on the event, my partner and I can finish one from 20-50 minutes, usually.

wat?? regionals went terrible for us...ask ktyoungster for details...to put it short, we were using open office, we never recieved a notice beforehand so we didn't really know how to use it well, the test was outrageously demanding, asking you to change excel cells into different colors, have everything in a different font and size and color (it told you EXACTLY how they wanted it tho it was pointless in my opinion) the test was VERY poorly made, quite a few errors here and there and the supervisor was correcting them during the test...isn't that not allowed? anyways, something went wrong in the supervisor's mind and he interpreted the rules as we were allowed to use TWO computers....he screamed at some teams for asking a translation of some poorly created short-short answer questions...... and to top it off, we didn't get the score sheet, you kno, the one where they give you points on how your graph was, the accuracy and stuff, we DIDN'T get it back, so we don't even kno where we went wrong..............hope state is NOTHING like this year's regionals....

You should have told the people who run the competition in your area. (The people who are in charge of supervising the supervisors :P )

For Regionals, we didn't get the score sheet back either. I'm not sure if they allow to give it back to us. Oh and at Regionals, it took us the whole time. 20 minutes is usually the really easy events.
