I don't really like the concept of it 'cause it seem that the very nature of the judging is going to be subjective, and in science, we're supposed to be objective! If you ask me, I'd rather have Storm the Castle come back.
Ya...i mean it sounds cool and all, and a music/band person would be worth a lot in that event, but storm the castle is probably my #2 most favorite build it, and considering ive never done it before, and i really wanted to, it better be here come 2011.

If I remember the concept of SUMO right I feel that it will just be won by a team that has a combination of luck and the most money. The nice thing about STC was that all you needed was some power tools and 2x4s. I feel that the more electronics events they introduce into the curriculum the more you are disadvantaging the less fortunate schools.

What's the luck aspect of it? I think good bots and good planning could win over bad bots and bad planning anytime.

That is not really true
For most build events It is the skill of the Creator and operator that matter and also the amount of time and practice each team puts in.
Yes money can help with getting parts and what not but if you are a rich team but have no builders what would you do with the parts ;)

Dang...I wanted B robots badly...and its sumo, which sounds like fun.

Mission Possible B would have been cool too.
