Also for future reference, all duke.edu urls contain the first two letters of the tree's scientific name. In this case it has ulru, which corresponds to Ulmus rubra, so it would be good to convert it to an imgur before posting.
Btw, just curious, is it appropriate to use field guides when answering questions in this thread or is it knowledge-based only?

Slippery elm is correct, I was looking for a cough medicine or poultice, but yes it is also edible.
