My students bridge weighed 9.8 grams and held 11.8 kg (score of 1199). I am just trying to get a goal for them to shoot for in terms of what to expect at States. 1700 efficency was just a guess on my part . . . what sort of efficencies do you think we are looking at for state?
Well it depends what region you're in? Or what school you coach? I understand if you don't want to tell me, I'm just wondering if there was anybody from my competition. I'm pretty sure that over 1500 should be able to medal for our states.

I have no problem listing our school . . Hudson MS from Region 9. Like I said, I am just trying to give my bridge builders a goal to shoot for.

I'm from region 12 (with White Pines, Lakeshore, Jenison, all those competitive teams. I'm pretty sure that your bridge would be able to medal. It's almost double my score and I got 9th. How well does your team usually do at states? My school placed 9th at states last year.

we got 1st with an 863ish eff. at state.
fail.
That's not bad at all! Congrats on gold. But, really, I think that most teams in the country would still be pretty pleased with an 863.
hah thanks. its a solid score i agree there. but i dont think it should be winning compared to other scores in the country. plus it is NOT the score i would want at nats. but solid none-the-less.

Im in high school and we are getting 1800 and the middle school is also getting around 1800. both B and C will be at state. Do you coach high school too? if so what are their eff.?

I don't coach HS (I have in the past, not this year). Our HS team isn't going to states. Typically we are in the 20ish place at states. I think we placed 27th last year. Michigan is so competitive I am really happy with my kids simply getting there. My bridge builders have been working so hard I'd really like to see them medal.
Their last two efficiencies have been 1154 and 1199. I am thinking with 5 more weeks until states they should be able to get into the 1400 range (hopefully).

I have no doubt that a 1400 efficiency will get you a medal. I wish I was getting scores that high...
