Oh, wow. I protect Fibonacci924 because they do meteorology and have done CJAP (which are both referred to in the clue) and is Marathi.
I'm thinking yours is the correct answer, but I'll protect someone else anyways. I protect Fanglin based on the fact that they have both Meteorology and Crime Busters in their signature, which are (most likely) referenced in the clue.

Oh. So maybe Sassy is on the IRC a lot...
EDIT: Sassy also seems to have tense problems. They switch back and forth between present and past tense.

Any ideas on who to protect besides fib and fanglin? I was thinking maybe Groundhog again because the Mines and Mining Building is mentioned.

I did do Meteorology and Crime Busters, and it's in my signature. Other people are more likely, as I have no connection to Marathi, but hey, it's a possibility, and I'd rather live.

I can neither confirm nor deny that you have correctly protected Fibonacci924.
