Which diagonal are you referring to? The string diagonal if you get rid of one of your pulleys so you only have 2?

Well, that shouldn't necessarily be any particular distance, it varies from launcher to launcher. Just make sure it is taught when the whole set up is in the ready to launch position. 90 cm does seem close to what mine was, though.

thomas_2002 may be referencing rule 2.a., which limits the ready-to-run configuration of the Scrambler to no larger than 0.90 meters in any dimension. This means your diagonal is less than 0.90 meters, and overall it may be safe to make the entire launcher less than 0.90 meters in any dimension (maybe 0.85 m).

I think you might have caught an error. Generally we would say something like the device should fit inside a 0.90 x 0.90 x 0.90 m cube, but I think there was an attempt to save some space / make it easier to read with the language you cite. I'm pretty sure the intention is still a .90 m cube, but I'll have to discuss with the committee.
