I would be very surprised if you didn't have to do any lab work at all, but last year when it was a trial event I think they only had one lab station out of five or six. The rest was test.

It says in the rules that it was like a lab event and for division B we are testing in soils.

What do you guys think of environmental chem as an event this year? I did it as a trial event last year, and the rules were too vague. The test, though, was basically ecology, though more on the chemical side then the biological.

i like this event a lot actually. it's not that it's fun, or interesting, it's just that i think it's a good event, you know? And the rules arent vague. they're way better than some other ones. our coach is awesome too though.
+, does anybody know if silicon is a trace nutrient or not, because some people say it is, and others say it isn't, so idk

So what should be included in our "cheat sheet" if we're going to have to be prepared for anything?

you need to know
elements are absolutely necessary, vital, and trace
how to lower and raise ph, nitrogen, phosporous, and potash

all the nutrients and chemical formulas for like ammonium nitrate and stuff like that
anything you cant remember or just dont feel like it

Does anyone know what Environmental Chemistry for B division is all about this year?
Also, how are we to test for chemicals in the soil?
And are lettuce, tomatoes, and corn the only vegetables that we have to know the nutrients needed for?
