The question was "Which star, Vega or Arcturus, has a higher surface temperature?"
My partner, who did that question, put "Yes"

FOr Road Scholar, the question was: What is another name for I10 in NORTH AUSTIN
Me and my partner had no clue, so we put wall street.

Oceanography at Regionals last year:
Columbus was sponsored by the United Sates when searching for the New World. True or False?
This year at Regionals for Fossils:
(Given a speciman of Amber) Is this Amber, a resin that preserved specimens? We weren't sure if it was a trick question(is it really plastic?) because it looked real.

There once was a group of teens
Who were lean mean science machines.
They liked to win medals,
when everything settles
and their favorite color was green.

Re: Funny Science Olympiad Test Answers
We put "Dr. Crey Domination" as an answer to one of our Enviornmental Chem. Test answer.
Crey is a slang word in our high/middle schools. It's pretty sweet.
And Dr. Domination has to do with the Junkyard challenge.
Our school was a 5 hours drive to the State competition. We got there, stayed over night, packed the bus up again and headed to the competition.
We got there and we all realized that the Junkyard Box wasn't there. After a few minutes of flipping out, a chaperone and one of the people in Junkyard went back to the hotel to find it. It wasn't there.
So, our whole team chipped in any junk they could find, and chucked it in a spare box we had with 5 minutes before they had to start building.
We went to watch the Junkyarders Build. Our whole team trickled in at some point to watch.
They built something that resembled a scale, and in the end, it had no hope of working, so they built it as high as they could. Someone had put some kinex parts in the box, so they made this little dude called Dr. Domination out of them. He spun around.
The judge seemed like a nice guy. I think they made him laugh a bit.

On the glaciers test at nationals a few years ago, we were asked who the father of glaciology was. We had no idea, so we said "quick, lets take a cold body of water and turn it into a name". We put down Dr. John Bering.
