Yeah, I see what you mean, that kind of happened from the (middle) school I go to to the high school. For whatever reason though, I guess the high school program at Shady Side never got started like the middle school program.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
But don't they have some of the same people that got National Medals and had 2-3 years of experience in SO? Shouldn't they do well then?eyeball138 wrote:Yeah, I see what you mean, that kind of happened from the (middle) school I go to to the high school. Its such a tough region that you never know who will win. Last year durring the awards ceremony everyone thought connestoga was going to win and they were 2 points away from second. Absolutely nothing is predetermined and it will be a very very very close regional.
'Stoga in 3rd was 40 pts behind 2nd place P-Crest. (Check http://projects.juniata.edu/scioly/paco ... scores.pdf ) But yeah, SE is rough, and has some great teams in both B and C. It's always interesting

Those are from the Juniata website so they are for States but I think the other guy was talking about Regionals since he was saying how strong his region was.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
Yes he was talking about regionals. Southeast is fairly competitive for B, but still much more so for C. I mean 4 B division teams from the SE region got top 10 at states (BCMS 2nd, SHMS 5th, UMS 8th, WVMS 9th). This sounds good, but it is lessened when you realize that the SE region represents about 28.6% of all the B division teams at states. Also please note that historically that is better than the SE region has done for B. Still that does qualify the SE region as good for B.
However for C division, the SE region is far more competitive than that. In total 6 of the top ten teams in Pennsylvania at last years states came from the SE region (HHS 1st, PCHS 2nd, CHS 3rd, LMHS 4th, BRHS 5th, and SHHS 8th). Even more impressive is the fact that ALL of the top 5 teams in the state last year for C division came from the SE region.

Re: Pennsylvania 2009
When you say historically do you mean that SE B teams haven't made nats in a few years? In 2007, BCMS was 3rd, WVMS was 4th, and SHMS was 5th. I'm not sure what place Unami was but I think they were in the top ten. I wouldn't say that last year was better than SE has done "historically" for B.inuyashakusho wrote: I mean 4 B division teams from the SE region got top 10 at states (BCMS 2nd, SHMS 5th, UMS 8th, WVMS 9th). Re: Pennsylvania 2009
B is deffinately not as competive as C by a long shot, but it is still the most competive B region.
