Actually, I just looked at the chemical digestion section of the second book, and it says that the small intestine is essentially the only place where lipids are digested. Guess I was wrong.

Could you perhaps post your anatomy book(s) ISBNs? I'm just curious on the dates they are published, because it could be outdated. I also am sure that lipid digestion begins in the mouth because of lipase secreted by the salivary glands.

Ehh, maybe the ISBN thing wasn't really a good idea.

The book I have is Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology, sixth edition published in 2007.

And yeah, I think your second book is wrong about salivary lipase.

The salivary lipase thing came out of the first book.
The second book is currently being used at the University of Tuskeegee. Our anatomy coach teaches that class at the university, so I'd guess that it is pretty accurate.
Also, if the information is so debatable, the anatomy event supervisor probably won't put it on the test.

I don't think the information is really that debatable. I looked in my textbook today (it has a table of every chemical and where it is secreted), and nowhere in the "saliva" section did it say "lipase". The only chemical that saliva had listed under it was amylase. All the lipase stuff was listed under pancreas. So...either your Anatomy book is wacked up, or mine is.

If it does, it's not mentioned in my textbook. Make of that what you will.
