Well... I was just wondering, because I read (in either a local newspaper or Time) that 53% of Americans support same-sex marriage... and it's a lot easier to believe the Sun is a star than that homosexuals have the right to marry. So I was wondering.

You are incorrect, milady.
Supporting same sex marriage is an issue Americans hear about often, and it takes no intelligence to say "support". On the other hand, knowing the Sun is a star is something taken for granted; how often do you hear "The Sun is a star" vs "Homosexuals should be allowed to get married"?
