I think doing state tree lists is dumb. Why not standardize it?

Because there's little point in learning about the Pacific Yew or Saguaro Cactus if you're in PA. It makes the event much more relevant. I personally like learning about all types of trees, but I also think that state specific lists are a good idea.

I think that we should have a Nats list that States can follow if they wish to, but they don't have to. (Didn't Texas have their own Ornithology bird list or something?)

LOL!!! ok, our "Texas Ornithology" list was this:

and i am looking forward to this event. (yay! spend tons of money on books that i wil only use for 2 years!)

New York had their own list in PDF with text. For Regionals I just crossed out the state birds and highlighted the ones that had the call identification symbol.

Also I think that we should have a National list that states can follow, but they don't have to (like Ornithology).

Anyway, this looks like a good event. I'm signing up for this next year.

Does anyone know if using the 2004-5 list will be useful?

I would assume that the 2004-2005 list would work just fine for this. To add to this, does anyone even still have that list? I remember I threw mine out almost the second the event ended(I HATED this event >.<).
