Don't think glass is the thing you want to be throwing around...Friedoyster3 wrote:I actually found one of the bigger marbles that weighed almost exactly 20 gramstrajectoryroxs wrote:What projectiles are people using for 20 gram projectile?
Glass may not be the best idea, but we found a hackey sack, and it works perfectly.starpug wrote:Don't think glass is the thing you want to be throwing around...Friedoyster3 wrote:I actually found one of the bigger marbles that weighed almost exactly 20 gramstrajectoryroxs wrote:What projectiles are people using for 20 gram projectile?
I was going to do that however, the weights can easily shift inside the sock.quizbowl wrote:Another idea is to fill an old sock with weights, and tie the sock. That way you can easily change the weights.
Well. It depends on the trebuchet. mostly.brobo wrote:What we did was get a few plastic bags and fill them with weights and marbles. We then found a pencil bag and filled it with weights so that it was 1 pound. We then filled two plastic bags so they were each 1 pound, and one that was half a pound. If you wanted a two and half pound weight you added a second 1 pound bag and a half a pound bag, etc. A word of warning though, the plastic bags tended to rip, and the pencil bag's zipper sort of got destroyed from hitting the ground over and over again.
Also, the weights shifting inside the sock won't really affect anything, would it?

We tried that today and it seemed to work very well, and I also suggest for anyone, that clay is also a very good idea.fizwiz wrote:Wadded up ball of duct-tapeWhat projectiles are people using for 20 gram projectile?
