I've never heard anyone be like "wow, the indexes really helped find what I was looking for" so I'm not sure it is worth the time to do. I dunno.

  • As someone I believe has already proposed, I think a field on the profile page for people to list the events they are doing might be useful
This may get implemented...maybe. It would definitely be legitimately useful.
  • Something else that might be interesting would be a field for medals, but that might encourage dishonesty
    Probably not
  • A wiki edit counter might also be an interesting addition (I believe someone has also proposed a link between wiki and forum accounts so you can get between the 2 easily)
I'll see if such a thing exists

I was reading through the A&R thread a while ago, and the index actually was helpful to find the quality information in the thread, despite the fact that it isn't an event anymore. If someone had made an index for the fossil thread, I would have definitely used it a lot. I think they're a good idea.

I'd be willing to make indexes for a few of my events, if you'd like.

I think all posts to Posting Games should be required to be posted by text message from cell phone subscribers without unlimited SMS plans. And on cell phones with only numeric keypads that don't do that T9 stuff. Or you have to build your own cell phone and submit it to SciOly.Org headquarters (then the FCC) for approval. Not really sure yet.

See, I've got a problem with that because I'm giving an oration next year in forensics against texting. ;)

Hmm... It might be a good idea, except some threads are random or chaotic, like the JYC thread or Meteorology thread, where the same issue may come up several times...

I still think we should have a sarcasm font. It could be like itallics, but maybe bend the other way or something?

Thats the point of the index. It allows for easy access to the most informative parts of the thread. Usually if the issue is comes up at multiple times it is the indexers job to find the best answer
