Thinking back, it was much better to stop and get a low time than to risk the o-ring breaking or worse getting the heli stuck since I only needed over 1:27 to win. Either way it great and i was very happy and thankful to have gotten gold and the T-shirt and obviously not have my helicopter stuck (as you can tell i've gotten it stuck countless time in the school gym).
Loll that was my helicopter!! Great job! What did the tee-shirt look like? Yeah the event supervisors were very nice, they remembered our names and congratulated us after we got our medals. Oh and I think there was a large time gap between 2nd and 3rd if i remember correctly..

Lol yes, i watched your flights and congratulated you. It was a short sleeve, dark blue T-shirt that said AHS International on it.
About your flights though, i belive you guys could have done even better (i'm saying that as a compliment). Honestly, glueing the piece of balsa that broke off would not have made any noticable difference, but taking your time winding and putting on the rubber better would have. Again congrats on your accomplishment.

Do you mean propellers? If so, then 2 is generally easier to work with, however having 1, i think, gives u 30% more on ur flight time at nats....

But then we wont be going to nats will we Chris....sigh....

Propellers aren't the proper term for a helicopter, when they are turned horizontal they are called rotors

well the more rotors the more surface area for lift. But if you are adding a rotor you need to make sure that you are still close to 4 grams.

but having 2 rotors would make the heli not stay in the air as long as a heli with 1 rotor, right?

well it all depends on design, you could probably make a 1 rotor copter out do a 2 rotor copter much more easily
a good design tip is to make things as simple as possible and adding another rotor is only going to complicate things
