Is that actually Slauson in first? That's a very impressive placing for them.
East I don't believe that those are the right scores... the final scoresheet was on nicholasmaurer's post I think.
My apologies, as just listed the teams as they were awarded. I took pictures of the power point slides as the top 8 were announced. Obviously, there were some corrections after the awards ceremony.

The team results as announced at the awards ceremony were incorrect. There were several corrections. The results I posted (and linked to) are accurate and final to my knowledge.

This makes a lot more sense than having Troy in 8th.
Impressive scores by Solon, they seem to have dealt with their early-year troubles - they should at least be a 50/50 bet for top 2 at state. St. Ignatius also did unusually well (or possibly just other teams like Westlake did unusually poorly).
Meads Mill still seems weaker than in past year. Very impressive scores by Slauson and Shady Side, both of whom seem to have improved greatly. I'm using Baker as my point of reference here (for ~15th at Nationals or so). Solon MS strong as usual, though Roller Coaster and Optics are bringing them down a lot.
Given that Solon HS was not up against Mentor, Centerville, or Mason, I am unsure how helpful these results are for predicting the state tournament results... However, Solon does seem generally more consistent than they did at MIT/Westlake.
For Div B results, I heard from a student there that a number of Solon MS's team was not attending Mentor due to a conflicting event. It's unclear if that is why their results (especially Optics/Roller Coaster) were so soft, or if this is a trend we can expect to continue. Their strong performance's earlier this season suggest Mentor might be a fluke.

Per their website (
http://solonscienceolympiad.org/DivC/index.php) Solon's C team also was missing a few top members, so these results definitely aren't a metric of their strength.

Just looking at their results page I notice one of their strongest members not there.

Predictions for the NE Regionals Competition this Saturday?
5 Teams are going this year for C division, which is odd given it is usually 6 each year.
C Predictions
1. Solon
2. Mentor
3. Beachwood
4. Mayfield
5. Kenston/Chardon tossup (60:40)
Chardon looking significantly weaker this year while Beachwood rising in the ranks, especially at competitive invitationals.
Well. I was wrong.
1. Solon (57)
2. Mentor (98)
3. Beachwood (109)
4. Chardon (138)
5. Kenston (179)
States cut off
6. Mayfield (183)

Northeast Ohio (Region 1)
results for both divisions. The following teams will advance to the state tournament on 4/28/18:
Division C - Solon, Mentor, Beachwood, Chardon, Kenston
Division B - Solon, Chardon, Mentor Ridge, Kenston, Mentor Shore, Beachwood
Congratulations to all qualifying teams. My understanding is that these results are official.

From my understanding, Shore and Beachwood both beating Memorial for the final state spots in B is a pretty big upset, isn't it?

Yes, as Mentor Memorial is traditionally the strongest of the three Mentor Div B teams.
