I believe Hmma brings up a valid point. Munster has been very dominant force in division C and I don't think any specific team has a chance of beating them.
Carmel beat Munster for the 2016 Nationals bid so you can't say that Munster is "completely dominant" with regards to states seeing as how recent that was. Additionally, sure pikachu might want her team to do well, but she also has alot of insight as to how her team is functioning internally in addition to their competition results and she has alot of experience/knowledge about scioly after so many years of involvement. Users on here are always pretty unbiased when it comes to predicting their own teams because they genuinely know where they fall. Based on the results I have looked at within Indiana, I would agree that Carmel certainly has a significant chance of overthrowing Munster once more.
I wouldn't be sure of that... Carmel beat Munster once before and that's due to the fact that they poached Munster's coach that year... So I would be very surprised if they overthrew Munster again.
First of all, we didn’t intentionally ‘poach’ their coach. Some things happened, and he just happened to get hired at Carmel for that year. Of course, he joined our SciOly program, but even with the extra insight he provided us while he was here, it didn’t change anything at all about how our team was run. In fact, Munster and Carmel operate entirely differently, as Carmel is a heavily student-driven team while Munster is a heavily coach-driven team. If anything, the Munster coach that moved to Carmel for a year felt a little weirded out being on our team because of the fact that we, the students, had more control over our team operations than he did (he might correct me if he pops up onto this thread and decides that I’m wrong and decides to make a reply back to what I said, but that’s kind of the vibe I personally got a little). Although Munster has done very very well at State, I as well still wouldn’t put them in the same category of dominance as TJ, who has won many more State titles over the 30 years that SciOly has existed, just yet. Their longest winning streak thus far is 3. They didn’t even rise to where they are now until 2013, which is REALLY recent compared to TJ. If they’re going to want to establish themselves as a powerhouse, it’s gonna take several more years of winning for that to happen. And for the record, if you like going off of best ever finishes, Carmel’s best placement at nationals is 9th, which, although not as impressive as 6th, isn’t super far off from it
