Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
The wiki software has more stringent requirements for the characters that can be included in usernames. The code that integrates the login with the forum database is supposed to fix this, but apparently it doesn't fully work.genes_girl wrote:Well, it still won't let me log in. I have tried a couple of ways to get to the forensics wiki and then I click login and it always gives me the same login error whenever I try:You have not specified a valid user name. Am I missing some obvious direction or could be some random setting on my computer? I just got a new one so I may have to change a setting or two, I don't know.
I tried logging in with an underscored name without success. I renamed the account to not have an underscore and it worked.
If you don't object, I can remove the underscore from your name...

Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
Um, if you don't object I would rather make a new name that I use just to edit the wiki. If this is a problem then yeah, go ahead and get rid of the underscore. It will just take some adjustment- I am so used to logging in with it.

Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
That works too. If it is all the same to you, could it be "genes girl"? Makes it easy to remember who is who

Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
OK, well, I thought I was done. Apparently "genes girl" contains "forbidden characters". If it works for you ( or you have some other variation you want me to use) I'll do genesgirl-while annoying as one word I think it will accomplish your goal of wanting to know who I am. And if that doesn't work for some really odd and bizarre reason I'll just use kmmika for my name. Work for you?

Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
lol, yeah.
I "fixed" user registration settings after I asked you to do "genes girl" to not allow special characters, but "special characters" also includes...spaces.
Do whatever works.

OK, for your knowledge, my wiki name is genesgirl. Glad we finally got this worked out. Thanks again!

Re: Event Wiki Additions and Edits
I'm logged in at http://scioly.org/obbarchive/index.php, but when I hit 'Edit' at the top of any wiki, I still get the "Please register for the forums or login to edit a wiki" error. Help?
