Re: Brain freeze
It seems that left/right-handedness is not purely recessive or dominant, but is a combination of several genes. Either that, or a person's handedness is partially learned and not entirely genetic. For example, I'm purely right-handed in everything except when I play clarinet, where my left hand is stronger and more flexible, probably because so much more is required of the left hand than the right hand on that particular instrument.

Re: Brain freeze
Similarly, im right handed, but since i play piano, where many songs have a moving bass line, my left hand is more flexible and i can play better with it.

Re: Brain freeze
Your left hand is more flexible on piano? My right hand is more flexible, but my left hand is more powerful.
You must LOVE playing jazz riffs.

Re: Brain freeze
Stewardesses. Longest word that you type entirely with your left hand. Try it; it feels REALLY weird.

Re: Brain freeze
My brother can do things with both hands. Like batting right and left in baseball.

Re: Brain freeze
I heard a similar story on the radio a few months back about a girl doing a lab in school where she did the punnet squares to calculate her blood type based on the blood types of her parents. The bad part is, there was a zero percent chance that her blood type could be derived from her mother's and father's blood. Even worse, her mother had never told her or her father what had happened! Much discussion commenced with many callers.Pleiades wrote:While we're on the topic of genetics here's a little story.
