Hi friends, I wrote a simple Invasive Species ID Game here: https://invasives2.herokuapp.com. Some features are still in development (accepting common names as answers, etc), and let me know if you find any bugs (lol) ! If you find it useful and want to give a few cents or dollars there's a donation link in the instructions (I'm trying to get a new laptop).

Anyone who made tests or know of someone who made an invasives or taxonomy test who would take points off for spelling scientific names incorrectly?
It depends on the grader but for the most part they probably will take off points for incorrect spelling. With common names you might get by with a typo, but for scientific names one missing letter could lose you half a point.

The program always says I'm wrong even I when I type the correct answer. Other than the scoring system its pretty nice, thanks for making it.

I think only scientific names are accepted right now sorry :( I'll get around to adding support for common names soon! Thanks!

What do event supervisors think of conflicting information? I know a lot of sources vary in their information...
Ex: one source says EAB eggs hatch in 7-10 days, another says 12-13 (or something similar like that)
Do they take this kind of stuff into consideration?

Depends on the individual event sup. In Fossils, trying to guess what sources an event supervisor would be likely to use was fairly important, especially in mid-level tourneys where competition is fairly strong but ES quality is typically not that great. I'd expect it to be less important in Invasives though, since conflicting sources are, in my (limited) experience, a lot less common.

Usually, as long as your numbers are close, it shouldn't be a concern. If the supervisors were smart, they'd look up your answer to see if they could find where you got it or if you were just guessing. My partner and I looked at multiple sources and found a good range that wasn't too big, but included all (or most) of the possibilities (e.g. source #1 says 5-7, source #2 says 6-10, we might say 5-10 or 5-9).
