I'm guessing they use calipers for aiming(changing the curve of the vehicle to go straight) since that'd what we are using.Private Wang Fire wrote:Seems pretty standard - brushless motor, arduino, and a really expensive looking encoderBazinga+ wrote:Whoa thats good. Any idea what system they use (encoders, brushless motors, etc.).Private Wang Fire wrote:mentor's EV can get a raw score of around 20, probably the best i've seen
also random ohio teams (like Nordonia? and Chardon.) have like mid 30s
I heard they brake with calipers though, not sure how that would work.

Re: Scores?
We just won at an invitational with a score of 23.3.
1.75sec, 5.8cm off. 2nd place was 28, 3rd was 35. Very competitive invitational. Obviously we were very happy with it. On to Regionals.

Re: Scores?
My team won our regional today with a score of 31.5. 2.3 seconds for the time
2nd place was just over 50
Best they've done.

Re: Scores?
Is 2.48 Seconds and 2 centimeters off, with total score of 27.8, enough to be a competitive score for one of the top 3 positions at the state level?

Re: Scores?
Took first at the Florida State Tournament with a 25.6 using a custom brushless setup with a rotary encoder. Time was about 1.75 seconds I believe.

We got first at TN state comp with score of 24.4. Time was 2.04 and distance was 4cm. We used a 55t crawler motor, rotary encoder, and 7.2v nimh battery pack.
