alternates are one of the most important parts of the team! they have to know and be ready for every event. without them, the team can fall apart. don't be discouraged. you will probably do better next year anyway!

My coach does base some on classes, but she also has people rank the events they want to do in the order they want to do them, and if conflicts occur she sometimes bases it off which event you said you wanted to do more, which i don't like, because i really like all of my events

that is kind of like what my coach does! but some people (like you) don't care what they do so it can be kind of unfare.

Hey, be lucky your on the team, when I started having a freshman on the team was a no-no, I would have loved to be even an alternate.

its not that i don't care what i do, its that i like all of the things that i do, so i don't like when i have to base events on which i like the most

Awww. That really sucks I'm a freshman as well and I'm doing 4ish events. I wouldn't freak out too much people ALWAYS drop so I don't know maybe you could fill in.

when i was a sixth grader i did 6 events and than 8 as a 7th grader

wow even though i have always been on the Sci Oly team here my least amount of events was 2 in 6th grade and 5 in 7,8,and, 9th grades
