I noticed that the app is the "Division C rules 2014." Does this mean that the app is only going to be usable in 2014? or will the app automatically update with new event descriptions?

Yes, this only contains the 2014 rules. There will be a separate app released each year with the new rules, just like there are separate rules books issued each year.

When will the 2015 rule app be released? Will it be the same day that the paper copy goes on sale?

Is the paper copy going on sale on September 2nd along with all of the other Science Olympiad 2015 materials? Will the app be available on the same date?

Maybe or maybe not. We still have a lot of work to do between now and then to get everything ready.

This is probably a silly question, but is the schedule always released with the paper rule book? Is there a reason why that can't be released earlier or separately for event assignment purposes?

Yes, it's released with the rule book. And keep in mind it's 'tentative'. We've occasionally had to change it after publishing (and in fact just recently finalized it). I'm not sure why you'd be assigning events already since the rules aren't actually out yet. It'll also appear on the Nebraska website at some point.

I was actually planning to switch some of my events based on how the schedule looks.
