Re: Stock picks
There was this one kid who knew nothing about stock and I spent a class period trying to explain. You'd be suprised at how many students have no idea about stock. I agree w/ dudeincolorado.

Re: Stock picks
Selling is good when done correctly. Generally if you're going to sell, you want to sell when the stock is high. But don't just sit on that money then, unless you expect the market to go down. In which case you should hang onto it until it's lower, and then reinvest. But generally if you sell one stock, you should still invest it somehow. Sitting on the cash isn't a good idea.dudeincolorado wrote:after a whole year of stock market club i have learned the following

About buying low and selling high - yeah, that's the idea behind bull trading. If you're bear trading, you want to buy high and sell low.

Re: Stock picks
Wait why would anyone want to do bear trading? Wouldn't you loose money?

Re: Stock picks
No, you'd make money. Essentially you're borrowing the stocks and then selling them at a high price, and paying for them at a later time, when you hope they're lower. If they gain value then you're paying more for them then you've sold them for, so you're losing money.

I'd probably invest in walmart and some of those in the food processing industry. People always shop at walmart and people have to buy food.

Or cheap clothing stores (with good clothes, not junky clothes) because people NEED clothes.
