I think the reason that the distinction between NorCal and SoCal is necessary is because those are two different "states" in SciOly. NorCal and SoCal each have their own separate state competition. I'm from NorCal, so yea.

How many sections in NY?
Nine regions, if that's what you mean by sections.
Well, I meant, by sections, for example: California has two parts NorCal and SoCal.

How many parts is NY divided in?

California is the only state with 'sections', as you put it.

No, we don't have them, although the debate for creating them in NY has been brought up a couple of times.

California is split because apparently the state competition would be insanely far away for some teams. I'm surprised Texas doesn't have this issue.

ours state competition is at texas A and M, which is basically in the middle of texas.(give or take a few miles.)We dont have a lot of teams from the north. Mostly from the south.South as in not that far away from the campus south. guess thats why we arent split. I would like to see it split though. That way we dont have to have so many teams at one place.
New school year! New scioly season! Another year to do something great!

In Norcal, each region takes turns hosting states, so I guess that's partially why we're split. It would be insane to ask teams from up near Eureka to go to states in San Diego.

Would it ever be possible to add a system where you can see if other people mention you? As in, if I wrote @username, username would get a notification. Sort of a tagging option, like Google+ or Instagram.
