Actually, as I recall, something similar to this was brought up last year, but I don't think it ever got off the ground. Personally, I think it would be helpful (especially to newer teams) to see a list of invitationals organized by region and date.

It's already organized by date on the National Web Page

When you say region, do you mean state, or would you break it up further than that in some cases? I mean, think: IL's invitationals, for example, almost all happen in the greater Chicago area and are irrelevant to folks in Missouri despite being contiguous to IL.
^but that list is incomplete, not that many folks would notice.

Yeah. The list is definitely missing quite a few invitationals.
My idea was that you'd just do it by state. Regions can be arbitrary. Or you can do it so you have a table that lists the states in alphabetical order that has a link redirecting you to the part of the page you should look at, in case the regions arent intuitive.
What would be really great(this is a bit ambitious) is if we could pin the invitationals on a google map or something.
The use I see in an invitational page is that teams could potentially find invitationals they'd like to participate in they didn't even know existed. Also, it would be good to document placings for each year. I have scores for a few invitationals in Ohio, but that's about it.

Dunno about anyone else, but I could back that (for however long it lasts, if it takes off). I have no interest in starting it, but I'd contribute and keep the IL section up to date if someone else does.

Hopefully I can spearhead this project over winter break. I also really like the Google Maps idea, I'll take a look into that.

I started a basic idea of what I thought would be useful for users. Suggestions?

I think the page looks pretty much perfect! It's clean, and one can easily find info on it.
