Haven't done this in a while, so bear with me here...
I think it is bituminous, which has a lower carbon content than anthracite, and a higher carbon content than lignite. Also, bituminous is more economically important than the other types. As far as identification goes, bituminous is a lot shinier and harder than lignite, and softer and duller than anthracite.

It looks like either anthracite or hornblende, but probably the latter.
