Re: Mission Possible B
1. Don't just do anything. Make sure you have a plan. Try to make it reliable...this is the key word, not getting the max points...the key word is reliable. In the end you do want max points but reliability is number one on your checklist.
2. Have help. Let adults help you...you'll do better that way. Swallow your pride...only the best of students which I cannot imagine would be able to complete this even on their own.

Re: Mission Possible B
Another question where is the best place to get affordable materials? Also Do we have to hand make the pull system, levers and stuff like that? If so how? If not where can I go to purchase those items? Any objects that are illegal for the competition. I know this is a lot but I'll give the biggest thanks to who answers at of this

Re: Mission Possible B
Remember that levers, wheels and pulleys are simple machines! Look for simple machines around you...wheels on your car, pulleys on the window shade, and even your arm is a lever! These, therefore are best made out of everyday things, and therefore are not easy to find labeled as "levers", for example. If you have something to put a stick on, you have a lever, just by having a fulcrum and a longish stick.

Ahhh... there really is simple machines everywhere! But I am still confused. How do you get a small pulley system that fits in a 60cm X 60 cm X 60 cm cube?

Re: Mission Possible B
This is one thing you might buy commercially. There are small pulleys about the size of your nose or slightly bigger for sale. You can also create a wheel on an axle, which you can then hang up and pull a string over, or if you're looking for more resistance, you can just use a round cylindrical thing.

I believe that the rules say that we have to build our own gears. What do you suggest building them out of?

scorable tasks
What is the maximum number of tasks that may be scored? 10 or 11? The event description says No more than 8 additional tasks (from 4.b -4.k) PLUS the special task are counted for points between the Starting and Final task.
