At states we had to do stuff like habitat, indicator factor/stability thing and also larvae identification. It was about 20% of the test.

Yea and it nats. they had the real macros there and you had to identify them with a microscope. Will organisms be included from estuaries this year?

Proficiency in DP Freshwaters would definitely be useful.
Then all you'd need to learn is some aquatic biology.

If you read the new rules, they're pretty much exactly the same-- the macros haven't changed at all, so no new estuary macros.

Good. I don't want to have to memorize anymore...

I'm probably missing something, but I don't see anything new in this year's rules. What new stuff is there?
The rules have in bold "estuary scenarios". What does that mean?

Well if you remember last year, everything was for freshwater only. This year, I think it means you will need to know how everything is different for estuaries. Also, sometimes there were questions about evaluating a freshwater environment, so this year there could be questions about evaluating freshwater and estuaries.

Can someone make the Water Quality ID thread again? It would be appreciated.

I've never done this event, what exactly do we do in it?
I think I want to try it this year.

It involves studying water quality indicators and how they determine the different organisms that might live in these environments. This event is highly focused on ecology of freshwaters but the addition of estuaries involves salt water. There is a portion of this event that requires making a salinometer, a device that measures salinity. There is also a macro organism identification portion of this event.
