Re: Texas 2009
LASA is also a public school, as well as LBJ, Kealing, Park Crest, Kelly Lane, and many others. In fact, I think that private schools were the minority.

Re: Texas 2009
all of those are science academies or magnet schools, they aren't really public

Re: Texas 2009
LASA and Kealing are public schools in that they are run and administered by the government as a service to taxpayers. They are part of Austin Independent School District. Although you are right in that they are not the typical neighborhood high school because they are magnet schools.
LBJ is definitely a public neighborhood high school, it serves an area in North East Austin.
Park Crest and Kelly Lane, I am almost sure are the public neighborhood middle schools in Pflugerville.

yo rocketman, which regional competition is kingwood going to?
(im from LASA)
btw ive been wondering, how many hours per week do you average studying for events? im asking because im trying to figure out if we at LASA spend a typical amount of time studying.

anything that happens happens.
anything that, in happening causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen.
anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
it doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though.

Re: Texas 2009
Gulf coast at Cy Fair college, though hopefully it will have more than 9 events, which they are saying now
as a team we practice 0 hours a week, but personally i practice at least 5 - 7 hours most weeks, sometimes more, just depends on what events i need to work on, i bet LASA spends a typical amount of time for a national level team, but i'm sure its more than most other C teams in TX

Re: Texas 2009
Who all usually shows up to that regional? I am just curious because there are tons of Cypress schools at state (Cy falls, Cy woods, Cy springs, Cy ridge). Do they all go to that regional usually?
