I always struggled with the mandrel wire bending too much to be useful (chalker7 has made MANY more wire pigtail bearings than I) until I saw a hint about keeping it under tension. Here's another youtube video showing one way to do that. Its what I adopted and makes the bearings a little easier to align since the mandrel wire stays straight.
