I like to think that Chalcopyrite has more of a yellowish tinge to it while Bornite is mainly just a darker colorquizbowl wrote:Good job! On a side note, I seem to often mix up Chalcopyrite with Borniteanyone have any visual aids between them? (It's still your turn, XX)

Question 5:

Re: Rocks and Minerals Question Marathon
The marble and bornite ID was mostly from memory; the bornite formula and the magma question were both from my binder.
Mainly I want to be able to ID and recall main facts such as nicknames from memory. The rest can be from my binder.

Re: Rocks and Minerals Question Marathon
The pinkish mineral is feldspar and it can either be monoclinic or triclinic(but i think orthoclase feldspar is monoclinic). EDIT: The other mineral is Biotite and it is also monoclinic. lol at first i thought it was slate

Re: Rocks and Minerals Question Marathon
I was not asking about the pinkish mineral, so I'm not sure if that's correct; however, your identification of the black mineral is correct!iYOA wrote:I might not have internet access for 24hrs after 12pm so if anyone is feeling impatient they may post a question in my place after my answer is verified. The pinkish mineral is feldspar and it can either be monoclinic or triclinic(but i think orthoclase feldspar is monoclinic).
