Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
I also remember studying that last year, its actually vey simple. 1 is the main stem and the largest number is the first tributary.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
Actually you have that backwards. A stream of order 1 will have no tributaries, while the main stream will have the highest order, because it has the most tributaries. A stream increases in order when two streams of the lower order flow into it, so when two 1st order streams converge, the stream from that point is a 2nd order stream until another stream flows into it.

Yeah I also studied streams last year so not much has changed this year.FueL wrote:My bad then. For some reason I remember my partner and me studying stream order last year anyway. xDLuo wrote:Bolding simply indicates that portion of the rules is new this year; it doesn't necessarily indicate emphasis.

Hey guys, I found this online and thought it looked helpful, http://www.sciencecourseware.org/GLOL/, the virtual river link would be the important one.
Does anybody know of any good sites where I can find information about lakes?

Hi all!
Dynamic Planet was my favorite event in Science Olympiad... if anyone has any topic-related questions, feel free to ask! I'll try to help as often as I can.

The Wiki. Also simply search up every term on the rule sheet on google, and study their definitions.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
I also suggest an Earth Science textbook such as the one by Tarbuck and Lutgens. It's good to keep handy, too, when the topic of DP changes.

Like PAWG stated, a textbook is always great to have (and you can usually get one for cheap at a second hand book store).
There are also tons of online resources if you Google the topic you need help with. And there is always the tried and true ask questions here and get an answer.
