This event caught my eye this year because:
1. It's about food.
2. It's about baking.
3. I like food and baking.
So, I decided to do some research. It does seem harder than most events, which is why they allow you a whole three ring binder to take to the competition. But based on the three reasons above (and the fact that I need some new events since they took out Ecology), I've decided to give this event a try.

Do you guys think we HAVE to make the Viscotester the way it's described in the rules? If we use different materials we won't be DQed or anything...right?

I believe what you are referring to is the paragraph at the bottom of page 2? If so, not the wording says 'can be made', as opposed to 'must be made'.

This event sounds really fun! Too bad they got rid of Can't Judge a Powder for it. I was looking forward to that event this year.

It is really fun im doing food science. :lol: Though I fell bad for you since that got rid of it in California. :cry:
