That's correct. The opening ceremony is supposed to be fun and somewhat casual. Wear silly hats, dress up like your school's mascot, or something stereotypical of your state, etc etc. The awards ceremony is formal (e.g. suits, jackets, dresses, etc).

yeah, for the opening ceremony I think our team is just gonoa wear out shirts :P

But I didn't know the AC was formal...are team shirts okay?

technically youre supposed to dress nicely but my team has never dressed up for the awards. I think we were like the only school that didnt dress up haha. but were wearing formal attire this year though

Well, I understand that this is Nationals, but what about regionals/states? every team in VA didn't dress up for the AC :P

What I said only applies to Nationals. I've never been to a regional or state tournament that had formal attire for the awards ceremony.

Ohhhh! I see...

How about the Award Ceremony? What's the attire like there?
1st Time Science Olympiad-er!
2nd in Regionals and 1st in States........last in Nationals? haha

Events: Anatomy, Disease, Ecology, Experimental Design (?)

according to that article, it says that each school has 3 to 5 people representing their state during the parade of states. they are changing some things up i guess. usually its just 2 people

What would the other 1-3 people do? It only takes 2 to hold up a banner...
