I could use a glass of water for my canadian lizard. His name is plumbum (a name from my Latin days). I hated Latin. But in my day, it was necessary to learn if I wanted to become the pope.

Plumbum is Latin for lead. Also, it's not capitalized. Possibly significant.
Also, I think the intended victim has something in common with a former pope. That had a lizard.
